Atlantic Hotel
The Atlantic Hotel was Banjul first in time and class, It is sited on the beach on an old colonial thoroughfare originally called Regent Place.
The current, very delightful edifice was designed by the Mexican Louis von Waberer, built by Balfour Beatty, opened in 1979 and operated until 1994 by the British promoters, Caledonian Hotel Management.
From 1999 it has was managed by the international chain, Corinthia Group (CHI Hotels & Resorts) until August 2009 when it changed ownership to the LAICO. In early 2000 there was a large investment in extensive
upgrading.
